The first Omicron variant has also been confirmed in Nepal. The Ministry of Health and Population confirmed this at a press conference on Monday.
According to the ministry, the 66-year-old foreign national and another person who came in contact with him showed an Omicron variant. They were being treated in hospital isolation. The ministry also said that they have not seen any serious symptoms so far.
Similarly, contract tracing of other people who have come in contact with them is also being done.
